Initially, I created a hand and body moisturizer that was safe for my one-year-old son to use.  My son wants to do everything I do.  I am sure most parents are familiar with this.  Well, every night before bed I was using a commercially bought eczema hand cream for my severely cracked hands.  And every night my son wanted the cream for his hands too, but I did not feel comfortable letting him use a product that had laboratory chemicals in it.  It is kinda funny how we are okay with using toxic products on our adult selves but when it comes to our young children, we want something healthier.

That is when I put my food-based ingredient knowledge to the test along with research, to create a moisturizer that would be great for my horribly dry hands and, also safe for my son to use. 

Through trial and error, tweaking, and finetuning the formulation was perfected and ready to use.     

Now happily, my son can moisturize his hands before bed as I do but he takes it further than that; he puts a little on the face and even some moisturizer in this hair and no worries from me these ingredients are 100% food grade and safe.

To my surprise, after two days of use, this moisturizer is healing my dry skin.  I have never been able to find a product that works like this.  Dry cracked skin has plagued me since a young child; dermatologist visits every year trying to find a pharmaceutical ointment that would work only to be disappointed.  This is the first winter that I have something that has kept my hands from having bleeding cracks.  Not only that, but my skin is healthy-looking even with all this extra hand washing since the start of the pandemic. 

About a couple of weeks after I created the moisturizer, I told my Grandma currently 95, how I created a moisturizer that was working wonderfully for my hands and she said, “next time you come over please bring me some I have dry cuticles and want to try it.”  After a few days of my Grandma using the moisturizer on her hands, cuticles, and nails she told me, “this product is amazing!”  After a month of continued use, my Grandma said that “my nails are growing in thick and healthy.  I’ve been dealing with a split nail and your cream has magically healed the split.”   

Months later I was talking to my Dad on the phone and he told me that he has the worst finger splits, they are deep cracks that bleed and are extremely painful.  He said all the moisturizer he has used does not work and gives him headaches.  He believes his body cannot handle the chemical ingredients that are in most moisturizers due to his prostate cancer treatments causing him to be very product sensitive.  I told him I made an organic moisturizer that I am using, and I will send you some to try.  I did not say too much about my moisturizer and he did not really make much of it either.  

After the second day of my Dad using the now called Bloomse hand and body butter he called me up screaming, “your stuff is amazing, you have something special!  After two days of use, all my bleeding cracks have closed, and I am seeing a huge improvement in all the finger splits!”

Then my Grandma gave some moisturizer to her hairstylist and the trend was really showing how healing this product is.  

After receiving a text message from my Grandma’s hairstylist, and the results my Dad had along with my Grandma’s feedback and my own.  I knew at that point I had a product that could help many people.  At that point, I decided to begin producing Bloomse organic therapeutic raw healing hand and body butter for retail sale.

The customer response has been great and so rewarding.  I have never felt happier with a product that I developed than the Bloomse butter.  I am just extremely enthusiastic that I can offer a product that is super healthy and will provide people great relief.
